Fayette Flyers Meeting Minutes for April (held May 5, 2007) Due to SEFF

Meeting location:  At our field.             Members present: 10

Start time:  1:00 PM                                        Member applicants/guests:  0

 Officer Reports:

Treasurer report-David Keller was not present and no treasurer report was discussed.

Secretary-Ernie Schlumberger reported that the club currently has 51 members.

Vice President Randy Hawkins said that 22 club members’ glow powered planes were checked so far for noise compliance and all but 5-6 passed.  Those planes that failed were banned from flying at our field until they are rechecked and have passed.  The noise limit that we are sticking to is 55 db at full power while flying and recorded at the fence line.  The things found to help reduce noise output are as follows: soft mounting the engine, using a larger prop with higher pitch and using an exhaust extension on the muffler.  As long as your plane has been checked and recorded in the book at the field, you may fly glow power at the field again according to our current field rules posted on the website.

President-Tommy Vinci said to send out an email informing the club that the field is open to glow power again as long as the requirements are met for noise and recorded in the book at the field.  Contact a club officer to schedule a noise recording session.  Randy Hawkins has been heading this up and has taken all the readings so far.

Tommy said the grass will be cut soon after the meeting.  He also said we are trying to find the best time/day to hold our club meetings to increase the participation.  Saturdays have not been working out due to other time commitments from club members.  So, the next club meeting will be held at the field on Thursday May 31st at 7:00PM..
