PRESIDENT’S CORNER

I hope that everyone enjoyed a safe and happy Christmas Holiday! If you got your special request for Christmas, and it has wings, you had better get building fast. Spring is right around the corner and will be here before you realize it.

We hope those of you who attended our Christmas Dinner enjoyed the occasion and had a great time. Ernie, Clare, Randy and myself worked hard (but had a great time) to prepare the food for you and your families. If you enjoyed the meal, please let us know. We can plan on something similar next year!

That is all for this month, got plenty of building to do (none of it for me or Bill!) before Turkey season rolls around, or is it Crappie Fishing, I know it is one of them!

Gone hunting, fishing or flying, See Ya!

The Prez

Meeting Minutes for November 30, 2000 by Ernie Schlumberger - Club Secretary

Officer Reports:

President, Tommy Vinci started the meeting at 7:35p.m. with 26 members and 2 member applicants in attendance. Tommy then talked about the year in review highlighting the field improvements.

Encumbent retiring Vice President, Randy Hawkins, talked about the upcoming Club Christmas Party on Saturday, December 10th. The food would be ready to serve at 6pm and there will be a Steal-a-Gift after Dinner.

Tom Huckaby was voted in as the New Vice Pres  for 2001 after Randy's Nomination.  Randy will contiue this web site and Fly Paper.

Treasurer, Dave Zeigler, went over the club finances for November. The club had $3,340 in receipts from year 2001 dues and Fun Flys, and $2,211.73 in expenses for Fun Flys, field structures, Christmas party, keys and miscellaneous expenses.

Secretary, Ernie Schlumberger talked about the Nov. 18th Winshape Homes Fun Fly. This years charity Fun Fly took in over $1500 with $477 from Pilot Registration and raffle tickets, $211 from the concession stand, $168 from the Paintball area, $115 from the Parking lot and $540 from cash and check donations from members. He also wanted to thank the members who worked the event and helped with the setup and also thanked those members that donated items for the raffle.

Old Business:

The vote on last month’s motion to compensate the club officers and newsletter editor/web master with paid memberships passed with none opposed.

New Business:

A proposal was brought up to get a club debit card for club purchases. Currently the purchases have to be paid by officers/members then a receipt turned into the treasurer for reimbursement. Dave Zeigler will look into this item.

Member, Jeff Myers, proposed an amendment to the Bylaws to have all club field improvements (except maintenance) voted on prior to being done. After a lot of discussion the proposal was withdrawn until a future meeting.

New Members:

This month we welcomed 2 new members to our club. Please join in welcoming Emilio Izzo and Domingo De La Torre to the Fayette Flyers.

Broken Prop:

There were no nominations this month.

R/C Tips:

Member, Phil Meyers brought up a good idea to use the winter building season to also inspect all the clevises and control horns for wear and replace any worn items. Just a little wear can cause a flight control to flutter or cause trim problems. (Good tip. Let’s see if we can keep them coming each month and make this a regular addition to the Flypaper. You could email them in too.)
