Fayette Flyers Meeting Minutes for January 25, 2007

Meeting location: Old High School                  Members present: 15

Start time:         7:10 PM                                  Member applicants/guests: 0

Officer Reports:

Treasurer report-David Keller went over the financial report and discussed the cost of the Christmas party.

Secretary-Ernie Schlumberger reported the number of 2007 renewals received prior to the meeting totaled 18.  Eight more were received during the meeting totaling 26 so far.

President-Tommy Vinci presented Bill Divins with a plaque awarding him with a Club Lifetime membership.  Tommy also gave Jim Beck a plaque in appreciation for his years of service as club secretary.  He also reported that hams were delivered to the local neighbors of the field at Christmas time.

Old Business:

We discussed the issue of field noise again.  The same neighbor has been complaining about the noise from the aircraft engines and is pushing for us to go to an all electric field/club.  Tom Huckaby volunteered to research our rights and the county noise ordinance to see what we can do to head off the problem.

 New Business:

The idea was discussed to return our dues to the $50.00/year again.  The club expenses verses dues income was discussed and it was decided to table the discussion until the June Meeting to explore the idea for next year’s dues.

Then we talked about holding the meetings at the field on a weekend day during the winter months due to parking issues at the old high school.  No motions were made and it will be discussed at a later time.

Peewee Maddox told us that he lost an airplane in a tree at the field and somebody got it before he could get back to it.  If anyone found a plane around the area of the trees, please contact Peewee or a club officer to get the plane back to him.

 New Members

Broken Prop Award

Since Peewee told on himself and we had no other nominees, Peewee was awarded a S.A.D. patch. (Society of Aircraft Demolishers)
