Fayette Flyers Meeting Minutes
October 27 2005 Meeting

The meeting was called to order at 7:30PM
There were 14 members present and 1 applicant.

Officer Reports :
Secretary - The membership is currently at 62 families for a total of 71 pilots.
The membership renewals are tentatively scheduled to go out the end of November beginning of December.

Treasurer - The club is cashing in the CD to cover the field improvement costs and to prepare for the up coming SEFF expenses. We have gotten $30 dollars in SEFF income, $255 from new members. Out going has been $4500 for field improvements, so far. Pending field costs are sod, spectator shed, and storage shed. Options on what can be done with the CD are going to be looked into, to see if we can preserve some cash in the CD instead of cashing the whole thing in a single lump sum.

President - The Prez is currently having some medical work done, so he isn't present. Get well soon Tommy.

Vice Pres. - Not Present. Ernie Schlumberger and Ric Vaughn were sunning themselves down in Daytona. [separate rooms]

Special Reports : The club Christmas party will be held December 18th 5:00PM at the Commemorative Air Force in Peachtree City. The cost will be $10 per adult $5 per child. We will be doing the steal a gift again with the suggested gift price in the $10 to $20 range. The club secretary will send out RSVP emails well before the event.

The field is coming along. There have been 30 pallets of  sod installed for the runway and some more for a taxi way.
Several volunteers have been making sure the sod gets watered by a water truck. We are paying $5/1000gal for the water. The gravel is in and the road is better than the Cathy Field road was. The site has been bush hogged again and the parking area has been cut very short. The place looks like a flying field now. The field has come a long way since we first acquired it. We still have to have some sand put down by the sod guy, the spectator shed will be delivered in about a week and the frequency board should be done soon.

The bylaws need some minor adjustment to bring them in line with the new site and Tom Huckaby will set a date and time for an executive meeting to go over them.

SEFF Update : Little to update on. Early registration will open soon and the pagers have been swapped out for the better units.

Old Business : None

New Business : The Perry show is coming up and tables are going fast.

We will be having a field inaugural event the 2nd weekend in November. Specifically the 12th. It will be a bring your own meat for the grill style cook out and fun fly. The club will have some drinks and chips on hand, but if you want anything special you'll need to bring it yourself. The event starts at 11AM and we will be holding our November meeting at that time. It has been decided that the field should be completely bush hogged 2 times a year.

There will be 6 designated pilot stations, but we are going to get the rest of the field improvements done first.

It was also proposed, seconded, voted on, and passed that the voting for new members be a secret ballot from now on. This is to stop, what some members felt, was pressure to just allow anyone in and now that we have a cap on memberships it was thought that this would give the members a better voice in whom is allowed into the club.

Broken Prop Award : Pee Wee lost one into a concrete slab. The plane climbed out and went straight in. Tommy owes Pee Wee a team Kamikaze patch. [Could cover a wall by now.]

New members : Skip Getelman was the only applicant. He was voted into the club.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:26PM
