Fayette Flyers Meeting Minutes for October 30, 2008

Meeting location:  Old Fayetteville high school         Members present:  11

Start time:  7:05 PM                                                    Member applicants/guests:  1/0

Officer Reports:

Treasurer report- David Keller went over the financial report for September and October.

Secretary-Ernie Schlumberger reported that the club has 58 members. (Including 1 joining tonight)

Vice President-Randy Hawkins could not make the meeting.

President-Tommy Vinci gave a field update on the county landfill property.  He had a meeting at the site of where the field would be located on the property and it looks like it could be usable.  The county would give us our own separate entrance.  The person that he met with was very positive to the idea of our use of the property.  We are now just waiting to hear back from them to proceed.

Tommy then discussed the Christmas Party which will be held on Sunday December 7th at the same location.  The hall will open at 4:00 PM for setup, tours will begin at 5:00 PM, Dinner at approx 6:00 PM with steal-a-gift following dinner. [This will also serve as Dec. meeting due to the holiday] [Steal a gift flyer or non flyer $20 range, must bring a gift to get one.] New members welcome.

Old Business: The 2009 dues were discussed again and a proposal was raised to credit the 2009 dues for $25 for the time without a field this year.  The proposal was seconded and voted on and passed.  So, the 2009 dues for renewing members will be $25 and the renewals will go out in early December. [New joining members is still $50.]

New Business: It was brought up that we need to get the porta-potty ordered for our field.  Tom Huckaby volunteered to call and order one and also to meet them for placement on our field. [ in GT Yellow]

David Keller donated his old riding mower to our club as long as someone could pick it up, do some repairs and deliver it to the field.  Earl Robinson volunteered to do it.

This brought up the discussion of getting a new shed installed to house our riding mower and the new one just donated.  Tommy Vinci said he could not do it so Jeff Hahn volunteered to take it over.

The officer nominations were then announced.  Tommy Vinci, Randy Hawkins and David Keller all agreed to stay in their current positions but Ernie Schlumberger declined to continue as Secretary.  No one stepped up to take the position so Randy Hawkins offered to swap VP for Secretary if no one else volunteered before the next meeting.

New Members:  We had one new member join this month.  Please welcome Keith Mansfield back into the Fayette Flyers membership.

Broken Prop Award:  None this month.
