Starred (*) events are trophy events and count towards championship award.
For Championship, scores will be normalized and the best five events will be used. In the event of a tie, subsequent events will be counted.
Sport Sailplane also has trophy for first time competitors. Junior/seniors will receive cash awards.
Registration Fee
The registration fee is $10.00 per event or $50 for all events! Saturday night dinner & beverages at 1800 are free for those that register for at least 5 events. Post-flying beverages are also included. Spouses of registered fliers are included for the dinner and beverages.
Event Rules
AMA rules except where noted. Please note: 1) All motor runs are continuous (except 609, Sport Sailplane & Texaco ); 2) The penalty for exceeding the motor run is zero points for that round; 3) Restarting the motor will result in zero points for the round. Momentary glitches that do not affect the aircraft performance will not be penalized. CD will be final judge in all questions.
Flight time includes motor run time for all events and the target is 8 minutes except in Sport sailplane, which is 10 minutes and ½ A Texaco, which is fifteen minutes.
Motor run times are:
609- unlimited (no change or charge of batteries between flights)
610-45 sec
612-30 sec
618-60 sec
620-45 sec
½ A Sailplane-90secs
½ A Texaco- limited to 7 NiCad cells of no more than 600mah capacity. The motor run is unlimited
Sport Sailplane-120secs
Landing points are: 20 pt. inside 10-foot radius, 10 pt. between 10 and 20 foot radius. Any part of the aircraft counts but the aircraft must be right side up, not shed any parts and be in a flyable condition. Exception-Old Timers with landing gear are allowed to tip over upside down on landing.
